Wireless Email

My email is through office live, where I set up my own domain .org. I have tried for hours every solution that's been posted online. I have called palm pre support and I knew more then the nice person trying to assist me. Not one solution works even Microsoft sent me to palm for an answer. Although office live is hotmail, I had to open a hotmail account and forward my email from my .org account to the new hotmail account to get my messages and it is creating a new set of problems.. How does a smartphone work if it can't be used for business? I have tried inputting the settings for different ports and ESMTP incoming and outgoing, I was at the sprint store with their top tech person and he tried for three hours before telling me to set up a hotmail acct to forward my mail. This is not a solution and causes logistical problems for me and using hotmail is not professional. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE THE SOLUTION!!!!

Change the outgoing encryption setting to TLS with port 587.

This worked for me, hope it does for you too!

I appreciate the response. I tried this solution but it didn't work. Maybe I'm entering the wrong settings. The thing is Palm can do this for hotmail and my office live is hotmail they should be able to resolve this issue, but they haven't even responded or addressed this issue and I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem. I'll try almost anything at this point including giving back my palm. Thank You

 Attention Palm! It has been two months and my phone can't receive my office live email this is becoming frustrating no one from Palm has responded that either I wont be able to fix it or that they are working on a solution. I'm about to just dump my pre, it's no wonder Palm has their backs against the wall, Email should be a priority over the other apps. Below is my problem I hope I at least get a response from Palm or from someone who has figured it out. Please give me a step by step as I am a novice.

I am having exactly the same issue. I am able to access my hotmail account just fine. But with the same exact account settings with the officelive email id, it does not work. Surprisingly the incoming mail works just fine but not outgoing. Help Plzzzzzzzzzzz.

Here are the settings. you can thank me later.

mail type - POP

INcoming mail serve - pop3.live.com

username - your login as if you were on the officelive website.

password - your password as if you were on the officelive website.

encryption - SSL

PORT # - 995

outgoing mail server -smtp.live.com

use authentication - on

INcoming mail serve - pop3.live.com

username - your login as if you were on the officelive website.

password - your password as if you were on the officelive website.

encryption - tsl

port - 587

Hi Pinofiend, you are the man after almost a year of having long conversations with sprints help line as well as in store techs and palm who were unable to resolve my issue. Yours and only yours actually worked the first time, Hallelujah 

I thank you  alot , now I can use my own mail to send and receive
