Wireless Email

Only the top 5 or so emails in the mail app are viewable. When I scroll down to see earlier emails, the "slots" they usually appear in are blank and unresponsive. Basically, the phone allows me to scroll down, but none of the spots where emails usually appear are filled, just blank "slots."  But I can look at the "invisible" emails by clicking on the next/previous arrows at the top of an email that is displayed.

Additionally, if I view an email by tapping a new email notification, then backswipe to get back to my inbox, new emails are shown and anything deleted is gone.

But if I don't do anything, the new emails pile up in the notification (little number on the very left to tell me how many new ones I have) but are not updated in what I can see in the mail app.

Not only has my phone started acting this way, but my wife's phone is also failing to display emails (while still displaying a holding place for them).

We use MSN email as POP, incoming email server pop3.live.com (SSL encryption, port 995), & outgoing smtp.live.com (TLS encryption, port 25), don't sync deleted emails & don't sync server to device.

If that happened on a desktop computer, or my Windows-based mobile phone, I'd restart Windows. Not sure that concept applies to the Pre. Is there a reset button? If not, you could try pulling out the battery, waiting several seconds, and then putting it back in.

Note: do not do a "hard" reset, because that erases all your data. I'm just suggesting a "soft" reset (reboot).

Already tried the remove battery option.  Again this is on TWO phones, not just one.  And I have seen other mentions of this on PreCentral.net.  Anyone else experience this?

Same thing has happened to me, only showing first 5 emails.  I'm suspecting this had something to do with the DST change over the weekend, but not sure.  Only Exchange account is affected, POP (yahoo) still working fine.  I've already reset, changed battery and removed the account and re-added to no avail.  Any more suggestions?

Not sure why this worked for me, but this is what fixed mine. With the inbox open (only 5 email showing) I tapped email at top of screen and changed the sort order to By Sender.  When I did this a long list of emails came up.  I then changed it backe to By Date and all my emails were diplaying again.  Hope this helps, it worked for me!

Has anyone gotten resolution on this yet?  Here is what I have done (to one of my 4 Palm Pre's - other 3 are fine ... to no avail:

- Full phone reset, webos doctor 1.4.5

- Deleted email acct and re-created it (emails appeared first view and then went back to only showing 5 after initial viewing)

- Changed number of days sync'd (1,3,7,30)

- Diabled the account in Exchange under ActiveSync and re-activated it

None of these things that should normally work helped. 

Will someone at Palm please chime in?!?!?  Or is support for this EOL too?

Two days ago this very thing happened to my AT&T Pre Plus. But only with my Yahoo account. My Gmail account displays correctly.

I've tried everything with the exception of running the WebOS Doctor app. But seeing here how that didn't resolved the issue, well... Not much point then.

The Yahoo account (the one I depend on the most) was removed numerous times, and added as either IMAP (default) or POP, but neither worked.

Really need to get this issue fixed. It's aggravating enough to where I might switch back to my Treo 650.

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see that my Yahoo Inbox was working again. However, I just checked it again, and it's back to only displaying the first 5 emails. The Trash folder's been displaying emails correctly the whole time. Maybe I should have all my mail routed to the Trash. So what changed this morning?

One of the Email in the server Inbox must be corrupt or invalid due to which this issue appears.

Move all the emails from Inbox to other folder on the day the issue has been started. And find the email which is causing but moving some of the eamils to Inbox and other folder to find which email or emails causing this issue.. Delete the email to fix it.
