WebOS 1.4.0 has begun to roll out today, 26 Feb 2010. Early screen captures reported in http://www.precentral.net/webos-14-screenshots-vid
[ ] Sync deleted emails
[ ] Sync server to device
The on-screen explanation for these options suggests Palm has addressed the "problem" introduced in 1.3.1. Looking forward to verifying this later today when WebOS 1.4.0 should be available in the US on Sprint.

That would be great news! Thanks for the update, Raliegh Palm!
I stopped using the Palm email client weeks ago because the frustration level was just too much. I will be very happy if Palm has addressed our concerns with more options. I do hope there's a "delete selected" option in the inbox, though. ![]()

Oh thank goodness 1.4 is finally here. I just tried on Sprint and it isn't there yet. I sure hope that it will help my battery drain problem. At this point my phone just won't last longer that 6 hours even if I hardly use it. I'm thinking it's because my email is with Yahoo and it's IMAP. I can't change that since Palm and Yahoo got together they automatically make it IMAP. Here's hoping. Otherwise I'll be at the sprint office the second my 1 year expires.

I hate to say it, but the battery issue is prob. not from Yahoo and IMAP... I am still using my pop3 setup and I am lucky to get 6 hrs., too. I am optimistic that this latest 'fix' will truly be that! Now if only I can figure out how to delete some of my music files so that I have enough room to download the patch! Does anyone know?

I would like to thank those of you who have remained patient regarding this, and am happy to say that webOS 1.4 adds a "Sync Deletes" preference for POP email accounts which should bring this back to close to what it was before 1.3.1. Please reply to this thread with any other issues regarding this after updating to 1.4.
Thank you.

Early tests with WebOS 1.4.0 and "Sync server to device" option turned on does simulate the WebOS pre 1.3.1 email sync behavior. I'm turning the auto sync back on and continuing to test. Thanks Palm!

Thanks
Now you can mark this issuse as Solved.
And Again, I think that the software guy who first thought up this comprimize of dealing with POP mail accounts (back in WebOS 1.0.0) should get a RAISE!!!

I can confirm that this works as expected, although it does seem to take a moment for the inbox to actually refresh/update.
THANK YOU PALM!!
I agree this can be closed now!
Yay!
