Re: Pre 2 suddenly stop getting Yahoo emails

I have been using the Pre2 (GSM NA) version with two gmail, 2 yahoo, and work email all year.  Last week I started getting a error message around Unspecified error:1299.  HP is there a solution?

This error is coming from Yahoo.  A workaround:

Delete the Yahoo e-mail accounts, and instead of choosing a Yahoo account again, choose "Add Account", then "Email Account".  The goal here is to manually set up the same Yahoo accounts.

Enter your yahoo email account and password, then pick "Manual Setup", and these server settings:

Incoming mail server:  palm.imap.mail.yahoo.com

Username: your entire yahoo email address

Password: your yahoo password

Encryption: SSL

Port: 993

Outgoing mail server:  palm.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

Use Authentication: ON

Username: your full yahoo email address

Password:  your yahoo email password

Encryption: SSL

Port#: 465

Tap the "Validate Settings" button when all the above is entered.  Things should work correctly again.

Repeat for each Yahoo account.  I was getting the same 1299 error, and this worked for me!

Re: Pre 2 suddenly stop getting Yahoo emails

Thank you for this. It working for me so far. I successfully setup a Yahoo pop account, but it had limitations. This is much better. (I've lots of folders to sync with.)

Re: Pre 2 suddenly stop getting Yahoo emails

Just update my Pre2 to webOS 2.2.4.  I am able to get my normal yahoo email back without the error.  Hope this will work without problem.
