Imo there is a major privacy and security risk with the email client because it automatically downloads remote images in emails.
All current desktop clients avoid loading remote images for a reason. Most remote images have URL parameters containing a user identification which is used e.g. to verify this email address exists. It is a common approach used in spam mails.
I placed a feature request a year ago but in WebOS 2.1 it is not disabled yet. There is also a patch request at the Precentral forums but it doesn't seem that there will be a patch. I hope this thread gets a little more attention.
Dear HP, please disable the remote image loading in 2.2. I am tired of using my webmail to check if a mail is safe to open.
Thanks!

I agree. This is something I need to be able to toggle on/off per email account.
if yahoo mail can do this (it can) my phone should be able to.

Hello Folks:
Welcome to the Palm Forums. I might suggest you file an official feature request at - Palm Feedback and Feature Link ...They Do Listen!
Hope that helps...

Thanks for the link. I already filed an official feature request a year ago but I do it again if that will help...and I hope it does because it is really annoying.

Nope, it did not help. It is still the same behaviour in webOS 3.0.
