I just received confirmation from my company that NO this is not yet implemented, and it won't be fixed in the February update either. Ask your Engineers!
At least maybe they will put some effort into this now as my company is planning on making the Pre an available corporate device when this is fixed.
I can't believe there wouldn't be more uproar about this from users out there, but maybe there companys don't care if the enter 1234 or 1111 for a password.

Any update on this? Were you able to confirm what I have said, and will this be fixed anytime soon?

Any update on this? My company has said that this is still not fixed, I can't believe nothing has been done concerning this. Does HP possibly care more? I can't imagine companies allowing webos for corporate email access if it allows simple PINs like 1234 or 1111.
WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

Ok, so this one got my attention and I thought I'd do a little homework. Here's what I found. Exchange has a security policy called "Allow simple password." This policy allows the use of PINs (all numeric passwords). By default, simple PINs (1234, 1111, etc) should ALWAYS be blocked (according to Microsoft's documentation here).
Armed with this knowledge (and an Exchange account that requires a password but has the Allow simple password set) I tried changing my password to 1234 on my Pre Plus with 1.4.5. Low and behold, it allowed the change. I then tried 1111 and my Pre allowed it as well.
I don't know whether "Palm engineers know about a fix" or not, but I can verify that this function is not working correctly. I will definitively point this out to my contacts to make sure it is brought to their attention. May I recommend the use of http://www.palm.com/feedback for your concern. The likelihood of your concern being viewed is much better there than posting "when's it gonna be fixed" in the forums.

Well, here's a weird one. A few minutes after I set my PIN, I went to go back check something on my phone, and I was required to reset my PIN. I'm going to do some further testing, but i think this may be the "not allow simple PIN" requirement kicking in. I'll report back after I do some more testing.

Did you confirm this is still an issue, or has it been fixed?
I couldn't find where to report this and have been trying to raise flags and ask about this, but no one seems to care. I spent around an hour in an online chat trying to explain it to two different people, after initially saying there was no problem they said that they would escalate it to engineering. It's hard to believe that no one cares about this, I'm surprised that more companies having reported this and more people complain about not being able to use their webos phones, but I guess because we are a minority there aren't a lot of us out here.
