Wireless Providers

no longer receive email on my Treo 755 through Verizon apparently because Wireless Synch is no longer supported. Are there any alternative ways to get email now? I see Versa Mail among possible downloads but don't know if this would work.

Versamail works different than Wireless Sync: it connects directly to the mail server. Wireless Sync could work with webmail accounts that don't allow POP or IMAP access. If your mail account allows POP or IMAP access, then VersaMail has a good chance of working for you.

If you go into support and look at the Verizon Centro, bonus software downloads, you can get the "full" version of VersaMail (somewhere down the list). I think past threads confirmed that version runs on the 755p, but I don't have any links handy to prove it.

On my Centro, I went to this website and downloaded Versamail:

With the help of Centro support (866-935-7256), I was able to successfully set up e-mail on my Centro without wireless sync.  The only drawback seems to be that sometimes I have to "get" e-mail messages rather than having them automatically pushed to me via wireless sync.

I have had some experience with Versamail and this gave me a clue to sort out my problems...thanks
