I bought an unlocked Palm Pre from Germany and i cannot get it to work propperly as i cannot get past the 'Palm Profile' bit. I have a signal and can make phone calls but i cant do anything else so its a waste of money at the moment.
I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands and we dont have O2 network, but i am on either Airtel-Vodafone, or Jersey Telecoms as my network providers.
Do you have 3G in your area, and on the device? You may need to update the device to the current OS. Since you have an O2 Pre you are going to need to get the webOS doctor that is for your device.

i have 3g in my area but with my simcard, i dont get it in the palm pre, but i do on my iphone 3g, and i cant get it to work on the palm even though it did before it reset itself.
Good this means the SIM card and your area have 3G. Problem is the device is not seeing the data connection. This is why I suggested that you do the webOS doctor. Actually come to think of it did the device ask you for APN settings? Or network settings of some kind?
If the device cannot get the settings off the SIM card it may ask you to imput them manually if it did not then you would need to use the webOS doctor.

Be sure you are getting the correct settings from your carrier. If the settings are correct wait till a new version of the webOS Doctor comes out.
