It may not work but we need to try. The issue is the settings for O2 are already on the device and in your case you cannot write those settings.

s it asking for the APN settings and just unable to write them or your not seeing the prompt for the APN settings on the device?

It asks for the APN settings , and when I write them the Pre states that they are invalid.

Your sure that your carrier gave you the correct settings for internet and not MMS? If so you may need to Partial/Full erase the device or the device itself is bad and needs to be replaced.

The settings are correct. And the device was working fine until I upgraded the OS and then made a partial erase. Do you think that the partial erase could have damaged the Pre ?

No, I'm thinking there are other issues at play here. Have you thought about getting a repair/replacement?

I don'nt know if I can do it . I'll talk to the guy that imported it from the States to me and see ...

The guy that imported the Pre from the USA put it to work in minutes.

Now I'm unable to acces the App Catalog.

It keeps telling me to return later .

Any idea ?

Yes I did.

The guy that sold me the Palm solved the problem.

I don't know how he did it.

But I still can't buy apps.  I'll wait a little longer and perhaps , after beeing a Palm user since 1997, migrate to the Iphone.

The apps that came installed work very well.

Hi from Greece.

Just got my unlocked pre3 today, inserted sim card but can not get a web OS account. What I found weird is that my service provided could not give the the internet apn number and refered me to hp Greece who refered me to you and life goes on.

Bottom line, the sim card is in, I have a network signal but the phone does not ring as I have to get over this internet apn....

Any suggestions?
