A week ago, I suddenly stopped being able to access the internet to collect e-mail or use the browser on my Centro. Both had previously worked fine. Now, the Service Connection Progress tells me the phone is "signing on", then that it's "Attaching GPRS", but then that it's "canceling".
I assumed that the problem was with the network; but I tried the SIM card on another phone last night, and it worked without difficulty.I've just tried a hard reset on the Centro, but it makes no difference.
That my Centro occasionally freezes when it receives a phone call is something I can more or less live with. But e-mail and internet access were a big part of the point of getting the device.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If you did a hard reset then I would contact the service provider and ask them to reprovision your account.

Many thanks for these suggestions. But three questions.
1. I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but what exactly does "reprovision" mean? The thing is, I'll have to try to translate the term into Swedish, so I need to understand roughly what I want my provider to do.
2. Similarly, what would a "new connection" involve? Trying another SIM card on my Centro?
3. The internet connection works fine on another phone (ie. not my Centro). Doesn't that rule out the phone network as being the source of the problem?
Thanks in advance!

1. when you sign up for the contract in your carrier, they will set your device under their network. if you are hook to a CDMA network they will give you a number that is assigned to your phone while if you are hook up with GSM network, they will give you SIM that you can use to connect to their network. reprovision simply means resetting your account in your carriers network.
2. new connection - usually when you are hooked up to a network, the phone will automatically detect what is your carrier when you turn on the phone. a new connection is, you will try to manually create a new connection in the preferences under network using your data or as what you have subscribed to your network.
3. if your data plan in the centro doesn't include GPRS then you can't really connect to the internet.

Postscript. My network's technician understood what I meant by "reprovision", but insisted it wouldn't help. I was about to give up and just wait for the Pre to arrive in Sweden.
But yesterday the combination of (1) a new SIM card, sent after a last-gasp suggestion by my network, plus (2) some playing around with the Network preferences on my Centro, which involved changing the name of the Service and the APN from those automatically installed by the SIM card (that is, creating a new connection), finally paid off. I still have no idea why those old SIM-card-installed preferences suddenly stopped working about a month ago. But now, at last, I have full internet functionality again.
Many thanks for the advice previously offered.

I had the same problem a month ago.
Couldn't connect. Got Registering GPRS. Disconnected.
Got the exact setting from my provider and played with every single variation - didn't help.
Was about to give up and change providers when I took a sim from a friend from a different provider and tried to connect with the their service and it worked like a charm on the new provider (no "Registering GPRS msg).
What a amazed me is that when I inserted my original SIM and tried connecting,it connected with the default settings from the Original SIM with no "registering GPRS" msg.
I checked the settings and they were the same settings that I setup manually before the swich to the new SIM.
???????
Today I just inserted a different SIM from my provider (different #) and the same problem started happening again.
Haven't checked yet if my method will work again.
Does anyone know anything about this "registering GPRS" process and how to disable/erase it?
