I currently live in Texas, USA, but will be moving to Mexico for a couple of years. Before I go, I would like to buy a Pre 2, but was wondering if ithe unlocked GSM model offered now work in Mexico with Telcel as the carrier.

I have no idea. If you read threads on this forum about unlocked devices purchased in Europe, some users have had problems establishing their online profile, which is critical to the functioning of webOS. Hopefully that issue does not apply to the phones sold directly by Palm, particularly if you can establish your profile before you travel.

I took a look at the coverage maps for TELCEL and it appears that 3G is only available in major cities. Hopefully you'll be covered by 3G, or have good wi-fi access.

Palm Pre 2 will work perfectly in Mexico, Telcel has 3G all over the country

Palm Pre 2 work in Mexico, yes, but Telcel have frequent failures in the 3G network connection mainly in Mexico City very frequently. It's not a problem of the Pre 2, it's a problem of the expensive Service provided for Telcel
