Hi
I have a Palm Treo Pro. I can use the pushmail and agenda synchronisation but I cannot connect with a browser to the interet.
The connect settings should be
• choose op Start => Setting => de tab Connections => Connections => by ISPAdd a new modem connection
• fill in the next info:
• Enter a name for the connection : Internet
• Select a modem : select “Cellular Line (Gprs , 3G)
• choose Next
• Access point name : Internet
• Next
• other fields empty.
• Finish
• 2 x OK
But I get always the message:
"The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later."
Can any one get me online????

Hi,
Yes it is, I just called the network provider and KPN checked all the details and sees I have a data connection. So at the network site everything is checked and OK.
I went to the PDA shop in Eindhoven, We tried the following:
Hard reset (delete all data) then you get the defaults of KPN
- Mail sync works
- Internet same problem
Then Hard reset without a sim card so he does not get the default KPN settings
- by hand given in the details
- Mail works
- Browser gives the same problem.
So it seems to be a browser setting but I cannot see what? Everything is default.
My palm has been in repair and sinds I got him back it is this case. Please can someone help?

I have one suggestion to check again:
- Hard reset erase all data
- boot again with simcard in telephone
- check if I can have an Internet connection with WIFI using the browser
I check if this works tonight.

Hi
I did try the following Did a RESET with Errase all data, without my sim. Then put in a simcard of my colleque.
Did the initialisation like align screen, settings and personalisation.
I got the default settings from KPN.
BUT the same problem and message when I startup Internet.
"The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later."
KPN and Palm Treo Pro is not the problem because I have colleques who have a Palm Treo Pro and the same provider.
What next? Tried every thing I could possibly could think of.

Problem not solved.
The problem is as following:
When I boot my clean phone (erase all data) with my sim from sympac i get the default connections
WAP
MMS description KPN Mobile Internet
Internet description KPN Internet
When I start the browser I do not have the choice wich connection to take, and I see that my browser starts the automatic connection to
"KPN Mobile Internet" in stead of "KPN Internet" that belons to the MMS protocol and then it makes sense the message.
I cannot change the connection when I startup my browser. In the image of windows mobile 6.1 from Palm this is not an option
in the browser. When this browser takes the wrong one (which is an registry setting i assume) you cannot connect.
This also explains why my vodafone connection works because there is only one connection type Interenet. (I do not get the wap and MMS connection types
with vodafone) then he always takes the first and only one and that is "internet".
So the question is can Palm provide me with an image of windows mobile 6.1 that gives me the choice of the connection when I fire up the browser.
With an nokia it is possible to choose or to give an pop up with the possible connections.
Called Support and waiting for an answer.....

Excellent research! I only have one data connection, and I have a Treo 800w, so this may or may not be helpful...
Under Start > Settings > Connections tab > Connections icon, Advanced tab > "Select Networks" button, does the first drop-down ("Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using") make any difference?

Hi Jeffro
This makes no difference. I even deleted all connections and recreated them. Today I got an trial connection from Palm but the same issue.
When I press with the stylus the new connection in "select networks" and choose the option connect (of connect and delete) it connects
to the right connection succesfull.
Only my browser takes the "default" which i get when I logon with my sim after a reset.
I get the feeling only a registry editor will do the trick.
The function delete connection or on general tab "Delete Settings" does not work. It deletes the entry but leaves something behind in the browser settings.
