For those of you who have the new Palm Pre...please tell me how you keep your battery charged without it going down from 100% at the beginning of the day to 30% by 3PM!?!? How are we supposed to use the Pre if you cannot be assured the battery life will sustain throughout any given day?
Too inconvenient to have it plugged in somewhere just to get a charge!

Thanks jon. I have turned OFF everything I can think of GPS, Manual Email, BT, Location Services, WiFi, etc. After a few minutes or so, the Pre went cold. Seems to have worked right away. So, I am going with this tomorrow to see if it makes it through the day.
Don't know about you guys. But, I am tired of spending time fixing things on my Pre!!! I have a life and I just want a phone that works, is that too much to ask?

In the CNET article, Palm sent them recommendations to increase battery life...one of them included turning ON WiFi so that information could be sent over wireless which according to Palm puts less train on the battery. Also,Palm recognized that AIM was draining battery life and claimed that a bug fix will be soon issued to address this.

Having Wi-Fi on when you are near a good signal is easier on the battery. Leaving it on when you are not near a strong wi-fi signal will suck the battery dry in no time flat. I lost like 40% in 30-45 minutes after I left my office and forgot to shut off Wi-Fi. The phone kept trying to accire the router.
Just be sure to turn wi-fi on and off when appropriate and the battery will last longer.

I shut the Wifi off this morning when I left my house, and my battery lasted a lot longer. On the flip side I was on the phone this evening for 5 minutes, the phone itself got extremly warm.
I don't think this phone is a piece of junk, it really is the most sophisticated phone on the market, having 6 web browsers open while receiving email and talking on the phone, come on what other phone does that?
Still the fact that we are all reporting the issues will better enable Palm to address them.
I knew this was a possiblity when I got this phone, Palm has to buck up now and support the issues, if they do that, than I'm happy.
If not I hope Sprint is prepared to swap my phone on a regular basis.

Disabling AIM did the trick for me. Right now it is 3:20 pm and by this time, with AIM signed on I would be in extreme need to charge my phone. Today without the AIM, its at 70%.
