Palm Pre Plus - Ringer Switch NOT working

When I turn OFF the ringer switch (switch at the top of the phone) the phone still rings!  When I slide the switch to the silent position it does NOT vibrate (where previously it had).

I didn't notice the problem until last weekend when I went to the movies and my phone rang (just as loud and irritating as it want to be).  I was so embarrassed because (one) it was dark and I couldn't see what I was doing, and (two) when I attempted to silent the phone, it just kept ringing!!

Anyone else experienced this issue with their Palm Pre Plus?  How did you rectify the problem?

Re: Palm Pre Plus - Ringer Switch NOT working

Try a restart and see if it will resolve the issue. I have noticed sometimes if my phone has not been restarted in a while, it can start "acting up" on me. Similar to what you have described, I put the phone on silent using the ringer switch before going into work. I set it on the Touchstone and it gave the connection tone. I slid the ringer switch to on then off and it still behaved the same way. I restarted using device info, reset options, restart and it resolved the issue. I would suggest you restart periodically. I restart a couple times a week just to avoid any issues.

Re: Palm Pre Plus - Ringer Switch NOT working

On my Sprint Palm Pre, the ringer switch started malfunctioning.  Sometimes I'd slide it to Vibrate, but it wouldn't register the movement in webOS.  Then sometimes barely touching the ringer switch would make my phone go nuts switching back and forth from normal ring to vibrate only.  Using webOS Doctor seemed to ease the issue, for a while.  Reboots definitely helped at times.
