So, heres is my problem. My palm pre battery when plugged in to charge (with official palm pre charger, in mains power) would DISCHARGE when plugged in. I thought this might have just been a lose connection since sometimes charged and sometimes discharged. Soon after this started discharging, i took it of charge because i would have still rather had some battery life in that none. At the end of the day, my battery completely died and phone turned itself off. No big deal, right? i would just come home and put it on charge. Well, not so simple. When my phone in on charge (with official pre charger, have tried in mains, have tried in laptop, have used 3rd party chargers) all i get is the battery charging icon. this stays on with the red bar at the bottom with the lightning symbol on. I have tried everything. I have cleaned the phones connection with compressed air, i have took battery out for a full day to try it, but nothing. My pre stays on this all day and dosent turn on, as soon as unplugged it goes off. Could anyone please help me? i cant take it to 02 since brought it off a friend who never experienced this problem, and he dosent no longer have the paper work for 02. is my phone broke? is there any solutions? thanks for helping in advance. How long have you had this phone? If it's real old, it may just be the battery is completely worn out. I've had to replace my Pre's battery twice now in the 2 yrs of ownership.

Not too sure to be honest, I've ordered a new one just incase.
On Dr.Battery though, my battery health was on 87% ... So I couldn't really see why there would be a problem.
I just hope it is a battery issue.

Yeah, I hope it's just a battery problem, too.  Have you used Dr. Battery to recalibrate the battery?  I've had to do that a number of times and it's helped.

I have yeah! i have done everything i can think of, and it just stays on the screen with the charging battery icon and lightning bolt in it.

Hmm, what a mess.  I don't know what else to tell you.  Try the new battery when it comes in, hopefully that fixes it.  If not, then it's a much more serious hardware issue.  Oh wait, I just had an idea.  You did say you tried to charge it from the mains, laptop, and 3rd-party chargers.  But did you change the USB cable?  Or did you use the same USB cable each time?  I wonder if the cable has a couple of broken copper twists inside it...maybe.

Have used a official Pre charger, my old Blackberry 8520 charger, and 2 more 3rd party chargers.
so thats 4 different cables, and 2 different USB cables. meh! haha

Ok, well you've done exactly what I would do.  Let's keep our fingers crossed for the battery.

Got my new battery today, still no luck ... been on charge for like 45 mins so far, ill give it a few more hours!

I think i've spotterd the problem ... i was keeping an eye on it while charging and this is what happens:

It has the battery charging symbol with the lightning bolt, THEN it goes to the cable 'meaning plug in' ... turns itself off, then a little while later it may or may not go back to the battery charging icon ... gah please help!!
