I had the same issue earlier this morning. Was in the middle of a txt msg 'o' key seemed stuck. I restrated the phone by holding the power button to turn it off and then turn it back on. Then the keybarod went dead. I turned off the phone, pulled the battery out and turned it back on, problem fixed!
OS Version 1.2.1
Phone was plugged in to charge only, via usb cable.

Seeing that we can not get a response from anyone here on this issue, I decided to call Palm support directly to see if I could get an answer. While the 2 devices we have here at work never had the problem (However, no one uses them, they were for development.).
I was told that this is the first time the issue has ever been reported and that they are unaware that anyone has had a problem like this.
Support went over the same steps of Partial and full erase, when I told support that this has been tried but it does not fix the problem. As it was left I did not get any form of answer and it was a wortless effort on my part.

Had the stupid phone 3 weeks so far...
Almost went in to get a replacement after work because last night my keyboard went dead in the middle of playing Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and I tried rebooting a handful of times plus a Partial Erase, then couldn't log back in because my keyboard was dead.
Took out the battery and rebooted, now everything seems to be fine ![]()

I just want to add to this post that I also experienced this problem today. I have the webOS 1.2.1. I was trying to send a text to my husband when suddenly the phone started typing lowercase "r" over & over like the keyboard was stuck. Then it started randomly opening the launcher. I manually restarted the phone by holding the off button & toggling the vibrate switch, but when it came back on, the keyboard wouldn't work. Restarting didn't help. I finally found this forum & took out the battery, which solved the problem.
I got my Pre in July this year & I've already had to get a replacement due to loss of sensitivity on the left side of the screen. I'm glad I found this forum because I wasn't looking forward to having to get a second new phone in less than 3 months.

The keyboard on my Pre stopped responding yesterday as well. The "reset with partial erase" technique didn't work, but pulling the battery did. Just wanted to pile on here so that Palm knows that this issue is still affecting people.

I recently bought the Palm Pre Plus from Verizon Wireless and noticed my keyboard locking up. After playing around with it, it seems that if I do not slide the keyboard out all the way then it works. In fact, I have slid it out all the way, typed several letters, which did not appear on the screen, then slid it slightly closed (barely closing it at all) and all of the letters I had typed showed up on the display. Very strange. Has anyone else noticed this???
