I have a Sprint Palm Pixi that is still locked w/ Sprint service and I am looking to either get it unlocked or buying an unlocked Pixi Plus because it has WiFi capabilities.
I am currently in Korea w/ the military and I have a year long contract w/ SK Telecom w/ a phone I purchased. It's a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini 10 Pro and it's driving me nuts. I really miss using my Pixi and the WebOS. The ability to open multiple pages at one time was excellent.
What carrier does SK use? How do they go about setting up an unlocked phone and how long does it take?
Any help w/ this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First of all, thanks for serving our country, Phantomlover007. Sadly, you cannot get an unlocked Sprint Pixi. They are CDMA devices and are inherently un-unlockable. However, if you got an AT&T Pixi Plus, you could get it unlocked as it's a GSM device. SK Telecom is a CDMA carrier, but I doubt they'll activate your phone. You can certainly try. I just asked my wife, who is Korean, about the various mobile service companies in Korea. She said she only knows of SK Telecom, LG Telecom, and KT (formerly KTF). I just did a little research and it appears all three are CDMA networks, like Sprint. I suppose it's possible one of them may activate your phone, but I would not count on it.

Only if the carrier supports it (if they're CDMA). If the carrier is GSM, then it should work...I think.

Best bet is to contact the carrier and find out which bands (frequencies) they operate at and compare them to ones listed as supported on the product page:
