Broken touchscreen.. want my data back

i managed to break my palm pixi plus's (for verizion) touch pad and it will not let me choose usb connection e\when i plug it in to my computer (vista). all i want to do is recover my data so that i can import it into anew phone. i would like to avoid the verizion store as  they have a tendency to corrupt data...

I know this trick works on webOS 2, not sure about the Pixi. It's worth a shot though.

Plug in your Pixi and hold the Option (blob on the bottom left) + Sym + U. If it's supported, it should force the Pixi into USB drive mode and you can copy your data.
