An important part of Outlook Exchange's calendar feature is to invite meeting participants when creating a meeting notice. One can do this easily in Outlook Exchange on a desktop computer running Outlook, or on Outlook Web Access ("OWA"). I could also invite participants on my Windows Mobile 6.1 phone, from which I upgraded in favor or a Verizon Palm Pre Plus. If one creates a meeting notice on the Pre Plus, there is no ability to invite meeting participants. THIS SHOULD BE FIXED AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE SHOULD INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO INVITE MEETING PARTICIPANTS.

any news on this? I just bought this phone and love it, but this is a huge part of how I use my phone--sending appts and such

Tracimil,
Regrettably, I have heard no news about this issue. I really hope that Palm dedicates itself to fixing it though, because, like you, sending meeting notices from my PDA is a huge part of what I do. The most important feature of the Palm Pre Plus to me is its ability to operate as a business platform, and specifically to use Microsoft Exchange and Outlook.
Notwithstanding that problem, I really love this phone. I have had it now for four months and I grow to love it more as time goes on and I learn of its features. I plan on keeping it for a long time, even if Verizon gets the iPhone in the future. (I note you are an AT&T subscriber. I assume that there are reasons you chose this phone over the iPhone, and I concur with your judgment.)
It's nice to know that there are others who have experienced my issue with the Pre Plus. Other than that issue, it's a great device. Please keep me posted on your progress.

Spoke to Palm today. "Not a feature". But I did explain to the tech that when I create an event and tap the 'i', a field with the symbol of two people appears - and then disappears.
This suggests that the feature to invite someone to an appointment is there and for some reason Palm have disabled it or they tried but could never get it to work... and disabled it.
I too need this for work - the whole point in getting this phone was because it is supposed to be "smart". It's very clever but misses a few smarts where it matters.
Hope Palm/HP or a developer sorts it out soon.
Interesting how Palm are absent from this thread...

any update on this, just recieved pre2 on 2.0 and can't send meeting requests.

AndyHendry: Regrettably, I have no update. I am particularly disappointed to know that the Pre2 and WebOS2 have not contained the fix. I think Palm and now HP are not looking as closely at the Outlook Exchange community as they should be looking. A lot of business users use Outlook Exchange, and PDA functionality is important to us. Moreover, meeting requests is an important function of Outlook, as you well know. I know that PDA phones with Windows Mobile have this capability, and I'm pretty sure that the Droid and iPhone systems have the functionality as well (although I do not know for sure.) If so, then Palm users might be encouraged to go elsewhere to these platforms for our business needs. Again, where is HP/Palm on this? Omitting this feature does not seem to me to be a way to gain a foothold in the PDA market.

Hope HP/Palm fix this problem soon. It's a huge drawback for the calendar feature and for my ability to stay on top of appointments.

Thanks Shanders. I hope so too.
I wonder if other PDA Smartphones with other operating systems (except Windows Mobile) have this problem. Do you know?
