Hey everyone,

For some reason I cannot install the YouVersion Bible app from LifeChurch.tv. I can install other apps from the App Catalog, but not that one. When I select it from the list of apps in the App Catalog, all I see is the white circle on a blue background. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

I'm running a Palm Pixi Plus for Verizon.

I too would like help resolving the install of this app.  I've experienced the same problem.  An online chat with Palm told me to restart my phone but that did not help.

So, this isn't a solution, but it is a workaround that will help you install the app since it's not working through the App Catalog (I just tried on my VZW Pre 3 and got a "Please try again later" error).

Step 1: Install Preware. This is actually pretty easy and is well documented on the webOS Internals site.

Step 2: Install the Impostah app on your device

Step 3: Open Impostah and select the App Catalog section

Step 4: Scroll down to the Application Installation section, enter com.youversion.palm and tap the Get Application Info button

Step 5: Once the info is fetched, the Install Application button will become enabled. Tap it to install the App.

That should get it on your device for now. Don't know what's going on with the App Cat though.

Step 1 thru 4 completed successfully. Step 5 has been running for over 30 minutes...I will let run for at least another 60 minutes but I suspect that this is not working either. Question: Do I need to do something to get out of Developer Mode, part of step 1?

No, you do not need to get out of Developer Mode.  Leaving your device in DM will not hurt a thing.

it spun all night ... never installed ... I ended the install.

Hrm... that's weird. I actually performed the steps on my Pre 3 while writing them and they worked fine. Try rebooting your device and then trying again (only steps 4 and 5). To reboot:
1. Press and hold the Power button till a menu pops up
2. Tap the Power button
3. Tap Restart

HP called me because I gave them a BAD score on a survey. I had let the install run all night ... still spinning this morning. The restart you mentioned I had used previously ... restarting from the power button. Today HP had me do a restart from the Device Info -> Reset Options. IT WORKED. On restart the BIBLE app was on my PALM PRE and WORKS! Thank you so much for your time and assistance trouble shooting this.

You bet! Don't know why the installer took so long to complete... but I've seen what you describe happen before myself. Glad it's working for you!
