How to enter extra characters in a contact phone number

I just upgraded to a Pre 2 (Verizon) running webOS 2.0.1, and I love it so far.  One thing I haven't figured out how to do is set up contacts for bridge numbers with passcodes.  An example is a 10-digit number followed by a pause followed by a 10-digit passcode followed by a #.  I had these set up on the previous phone to easily access daily conferences.  A 10-digit number alone works fine, but as soon as I add anything else, I get a menu asking if I want to use Verizon Wireless or Skype for international calls.  If I tap Verizon Wireless I get a message that Verizon Wireless cannot complete the call.  How do I get this to work?

That worked perfectly -- many thanks!
