Pre3 battery overheating while calling

Since updating to 2.2.4, my unlocked Pre3 ATT has gotten to heating up while on voice calls (phone). I have had the phone shut itself down as it overheated while on a 40 minute phone call. Shorter calls, the back of the phone gets noticeably warmer even after only 5-8 minutes. Has anyone else experienced this? Not good if I cannot take a 1 hour telecon away from the office without icing my phone. Battery seems to drop quickly as well considering the the screen is typically off and nothing else is running in the background.

Re: Pre3 battery overheating while calling

I've been using a Pre 3 for a while and haven't had a problem like the one you describe. Are you using a customer Kernel from Preware? If so, please reload the stock HP Kernel and test some more. Are you using Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth while on the call? If so, try turning those off while not in use. If neither of these help the problem, definitely contact HP.

Re: Pre3 battery overheating while calling

Thanks for the response Ridius. Although I am running preware, I am using stock Kernels. I will try turning off the WiFi and Bluetooth and see if I get the same issue. It has only happened three times but phonecalls appeared to be the only consistent factor. I will post if it happens again.
