i would like to get all of my contact off my pre, onto my pc.  i have looked at the sync options, but all of them appear to make you setup a new account in your contacts for them.  so new contact will go into there sync.  i want all of my contacts.  I dont want to setup a new account, i like that my contacts are backup to my palm profile.  but i also want a complete list off my pre.

is there a way to do this?

There was an article relating to this on precentral.net yesterday, no homebrew required.

From the on-screen dialpad, type ##66623# and choose the Export option. This saves a .vcf file to the .Temp folder on your Pre. You will need to set your PC to view hidden files in order to see this folder. All of your contacts will be inside this single vCard, and Outlook does not recognize these group vCards. Google will import them with no problem, and then you could export out of google as a .csv file if needed.
